Web evaluation

                                           Internet web evaluation.

On Friday April 12, 2019 I was taken through internet web evaluation. Till that particular day I thought everything that I get from web is right and I used to fully rely on information that I get from internet as soon as I browse the net without any evaluation. On that day I was told web evaluation is very important as any Tom, Dick and Harry can post it on net, so it fully depends on us whether to choose the article that we can rely in long run or something which doesn’t contain any facts and evidences.

Basically there are five criteria to check the source and they are accuracy, authority, objectivity, currency and coverage. I knew that to check the accuracy of the article or any other information one must make sure that the authors have provided e-mail or contact addresses/phone number. To check the authority, I learned we must look at whether the page lists the author credentials and its domains in URL. With regards to objectivity, one must see whether the page provides accurate information with limited advertising and its objective in presenting the information.

For currency, we must look at how many dead links are there on the page, and also have to look at whether your page is current and updated regularly. Finally when it comes to coverage, we have to see whether we can view the information properly because some articles are limited by fees and some requires some other software and so many complications. So we have to look all in these areas before we depend on any information or any article.

After attending that particular session, I was made clear why web evaluation is important and how we can assure our self that can we really rely on that information or not. I personally feel as being a trainee it’s very important to know how to evaluate the sources because college life is full of doing assignments and making presentations. More over as being a future teacher, one must with equip with ICT knowledge in order to teach the future generation in digital advance world.

Google classroom

I found Google classroom effective and engaging.
In this world of technology, ICT has been developing rapidly. It has become a vital responsibility for each and every one of us to outfit ourselves with the basic knowledge of technology. All the skills learned are very useful in our daily life. More over recently, we have learned about creating Google Classroom. I found it very engaging and productive if we use, once we go in the teaching field. I found it engaging both for teachers and students.
I must say Google classroom is very convenient to use because it can be accessed from any computers via Google chrome or any other mobile devices regardless of platform. All the files uploaded by teachers and students are stored in a classroom folder on Google drive.  Users can access classroom anytime and anywhere. Also students can access missed work due to absences and locate other resources they may need.
The classroom also provides students with exposure to an online learning system which is really interesting. I think it is very economical to use such facilities. It can be very useful for those students who can’t afford to buy books and papers. Because it is purely electronic and zero paper usage.
These days every teacher complains about workloads and syllabus coverage. That is mainly because of poor time management. And I feel we can solve this problem by using Google classroom. With all resources saved in one place and ability to access the classroom from anywhere, teachers will have more free time to complete other task. Since classroom can be accessed from a mobile device, teacher and students can participate through their phones or tablets.
Google classroom strengthen and built the relation between peoples. Teacher and students can send emails, post to the stream, send private comments on assignments, and provide feedbacks on work. It is also the way to communication among teachers, parents and students regarding announcement and due dates of assignment through emails.
The most important is the integration of Google classroom is really engaging. Classroom offers numerous ways to make learning interactive and collaborative. It offers teachers the ability to differentiate assignments, include videos and web pages into lessons, and create collaborative group assignments. The above video is my original video which I made during introduction of Google classroom. I am so lucky that I got to learn an ICT module which is really helpful in our daily life as a teacher.

benefits of ICT

Benefits of usage of ICT in the classroom.

The educational system in our country is adopting new technologies to incorporate ICT in the teaching and learning process, to set up students with the comprehension and skills they need in their subject matter. In this way, the teaching profession can promote the shift to a learner-centered environment and at the same time it is important to acknowledge that students are already interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for schools and teachers to benefit from integrating some forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective. Here are some of the main benefits of using technology in the classroom which I found out.

When we  integrate ICT in the classroom it can improve engagement of the students. As students are expected to be more interested in the subjects they are studying. Technology provides different opportunities to make learning more fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching same things in new ways. For instance, delivering teaching through playing games, taking students on virtual field trips and using other online learning resources. What is more, technology can encourage a more active participation in the learning process which can be hard to achieve through a traditional lecture environment.

The second thing benefit is improvement of knowledge retention. Students who are engaged and interested in things they are studying, are expected to have better knowledge retention. As mentioned before, technology can help to encourage active participation in the classroom which also is a very important factor for increased knowledge retention. Different forms of technology can be used to experiment with and decide what works best for students in terms of retaining their knowledge.
And also it encourages individual learning No one learns in the same way because of different learning styles and different abilities. Technology provides great opportunities for making learning more effective for everyone with different needs. For example, students can learn at their own speed, review difficult concepts or skip ahead if they need to. What is more, technology can provide more opportunities for struggling or disabled students. Access to the internet gives students access to a broad range of resources to conduct research in different ways, which in turn can increase the engagement.

I can also say that students can learn useful life skills through technology. By using technology in the classroom, both teachers and students can develop skills essential for the 21st century. Students can gain the skills they will need to be successful in the future. Modern learning is about collaborating with others, solving complex problems, critical thinking, developing different forms of communication and leadership skills, and improving motivation and productivity. What is more, technology can help develop many practical skills, including creating presentations, learning to differentiate reliable from unreliable sources on the Internet, maintaining proper online etiquette, and writing emails. These are very important skills that can be developed in the classroom.

Usage of ICT is not only beneficial to the students but also it has a great advantage for teachers as well. With countless online resources, technology can help improve teaching. Teachers can use different apps or trusted online resources to enhance the traditional ways of teaching and to keep students more engaged. Virtual lesson plans, grading software and online assessments can help teachers save a lot time. This valuable time can be used for working with students who are struggling. What is more, having virtual learning environments in schools enhances collaboration and knowledge sharing between teachers.
As a future teacher, I feel it is very important to learn the ICT skills when we are in the college because it has lots of advantages once we go into teaching field.
