Different learning style.

In one of the session, we learned about VAK Learning style which means different learning style. We have our own learning style and we cannot force to learn the same thing that others learn. In the classes, there are students who learn fast, medium and slow and the teachers’ have to know each child’s learning ability. Our tutor talked about three learning style like visual learning, auditory learning, and kinesthetic learning style.

I learned that visual learning takes place through seeing. Most of the time students learn by seeing the teacher’s body language and facial expression to understand the content of a lesson. I as a learner, I would love to look up to my teacher as a role model for my learning because I love to look expression that teacher shows to make us understand the lesson. As I have teaching practice experience, I came to now that students learn best through visual displays. The students used to suggest me to bring pictures and videos so they can enjoy learning in effective ways.

As all learners learns in different ways, so some learn through auditory learning.In auditory learning, it mainly deals with listening skills. Whatever we do, listening is crucial in our life and without listening we cannot move forward. When there is listening skills, learners can interpret their understanding and use in beneficial ways. Learners can get clear instruction and information through listening and there will be an interactive discussion in the class.

The third learning style is kinesthetic learning style where learning takes place by carrying out more physical activities rather than listening to the lectures. In this learning, learners can learn through moving, doing and touching. Kinesthetic learners can remember things for a longer duration because they learn through hands-on experience. The learners here are actively exploring the physical world around them. When learners get the hands-on experience they always connect their learning with the real world to understand their learning and see whether they are right to except the information or not.

From three learning style, I prefer kinesthetic learning style because I believe that we can learn more when we are allowed to move, do things and feel and touch the things. In kinesthetic learning style, a movement allows students an alternative approach to get the information. The learners who prefer kinesthetic learning style are more efficient when they participate in physical activities like science experiments, dramatizing, singing and dancing and also sports where there are concrete things.
